AutoHunt Listing Rules
Effective: 25 September 2026 | Applies to all Private & Dealer sellers
Break the rules 3 times = Permanent Ban + Cars Deleted
1. WHO CAN SELL
- Must be 18+ years old with valid SA ID / Passport
- You must OWN the car or have written mandate from owner
- Dealers must upload valid Dealer License / Business Registration
- One account per person / dealership. No duplicate accounts to bypass limits
2. WHAT YOU CAN LIST

3. PHOTO RULES - STRICT
- Real Photos Only: Must be photos of THAT exact car. No Google, stock images, or other dealer's photos
- Minimum 3 photos: Front, Back, Interior. Max 15 photos
- No Plates Hiding: Upload with plates visible - we will auto-blur it for public to stop cloning. Don't blur it yourself
- No nudity, no guns, no people posing inappropriately, no filters that hide damage
- Photos must be clear - No screenshots of other websites

4. PRICING & DESCRIPTION RULES
- Price must be REAL: No R1, R99, R0 to get attention. Put real cash price in ZAR
- If price is negotiable, tick "Negotiable" - don't put R500,000 neg in title
- Mileage MUST be true. Clocking = Instant Block. If you don't know, write "Unknown"
- You MUST disclose: Code 2 (Rebuilt), Code 3 (Spare Parts), Code 4 (Scrap), Previous Accident, Taxi use, Outstanding Finance
- No "From R2999 pm" - Only full cash price. Instalment can be in description
5. SCAM RULES - ZERO TOLERANCE
These = Instant Permanent DELETE + Report to SAPS:
- Asking buyer to pay deposit / holding fee before viewing
- Asking buyer to pay via eWallet, gift cards, crypto, PayPal friends
- Selling car you don't own / don't have papers for
- Using fake proof of payment
- Copying another seller's listing with lower price to steal leads
6. SPAM & DUPLICATE RULES
- One vehicle = One listing. Don't list same car 5 times to dominate homepage
- Don't re-upload same car every day. Use Boost or Sponsored instead
- If car is sold, mark as SOLD within 24 hours or delete it
- No keywords stuffing: e.g. "Toyota Toyota Toyota Hilux Hilux Cheap Cheap"

Note: Featured & Sponsored are non-refundable once activated - even if car sells same day. No guarantee of sale.
8. SELLER CONDUCT
- Reply to buyer enquiries within 48 hours. Sellers who don't reply get downranked
- Don't misuse buyer data. You can ONLY contact buyer about the car they enquired on - POPIA Law
- No racism, tribalism, sexism when dealing with buyers
- Meet buyers at safe public place or dealership. Don't meet alone at night
9. HOW WE ENFORCE

Appeal: Email [email protected] within 7 days with proof (Natis, ID, etc). We review in 48h.
10. BUYER SAFETY DISCLAIMER
AutoHunt is a VENUE only - like Facebook Marketplace. We do NOT own cars, we don't inspect cars.
Buyer must:
- Do Natis / SAPS clearance at traffic dept
- Check for outstanding finance with bank
- Test drive + take mechanic
- Never pay before seeing car + papers
AutoHunt not liable for loss, damage, fraud between buyer & seller.
11. REPORT BAD LISTINGS
See cloned / scam / fake car? Click Report button on car page or email [email protected] with Car ID.
We remove scam cars within 2 hours during working hours.
